Printmaking workshops in Berlin: screen printing, Riso, lino and cyanotype

In lino printing you carve a design into a lino block and print it by hand, as cards or posters. Screen printing pushes ink through a fine mesh onto fabric or paper, ideal for shirts and bags. Risograph prints posters and zines in bold spot colours, and cyanotype uses light-sensitive paper that turns blue in sunlight.

Tips for getting started

  1. Lino printing suits Christmas cards because you can print one design many times.
  2. For screen printing you can often bring your own shirts or bags. Ask which fabrics work.
  3. Remember that lettering has to be carved in reverse for lino and stamp printing.
